The JoMama - Blues Special is a high quality, hand-built, and affordable all-tube amplifier. Voiced with the professional guitarist in mind this model is built to provide a rich spectrum of sounds, with easy to use controls.

As with all of our models, the Blues Special is made using old-world, bulletproof methods. We only use 1/8" linen grade phenolic boards and turret lugs.
All of the components are hand soldered to these lugs
providing a lifetime of maintenance free use.
 

Porcelain Tube Sockets

Our tube sockets are porcelain and are impervious to moisture. All of the tube sockets, transformers and circuit boards are mounted using lock-nuts and bolts. Check out the inside of our amps and you'll agree that they're the finest on the market.

 

Solid Pine Fully Resonant Cabinets		Our hand made cabinets are a work of art too. Each cabinet is made from hand selected solid pine and built using interlocking box-joints.
	This is very time consuming and it results in the strongest joint possible.  Just like the most sought after vintage combos this type of construction yields a fully resonant structure.  We decided to improve the low end and tighten up the bass of our combos creating a 4/5ths semi-closed musically tuned cabinet. All our cabinets have metal protectors on all eight corners, large rubber feet, and a professional grade handle that's comfortable and vibration free.

JoMama knows that all the components affect tone and we pay attention to the details.

 

Tone Controls		The tone controls are extremely versatile.
	The Treble, Middle and Bass controls are interactive and will provide you with the ability to control the high-end luster, in-your-face midrange gain, and deep, tight low-end. The key to ballsy gain is linked directly to the amount of midrange selected. We decided to go over-the-top here, and have given you the ability to really crank it up! Higher midrange settings will really generate a fat sound. This is way more adjustable than a preset switch. Of course for you cleaner players we've taken care of you too. Back off the middle control and behold the incredible glassy clean sounds with full bottom end. Simply adjust the treble and bass to your hearts and ears desire.

 

External Bias Section

Adjust the critical bias of the power tubes with an ordinary voltmeter, and without removing the chassis! Change tube and re-bias at the gig and save $$$. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of this feature, it is a very powerful tool. We've engineered this feature to work hand-in-hand with the customized power tube section.

 

Customized Power Tube Section.		All of our amplifiers come stock with 6L6,s and sound incredible.
	We have engineered these tone generators to really become the only professional amp you'll ever need. Playing at a small gig or recording at the studio and want a low wattage screaming lead sound? Replace the tube rectifier with a JAN 5Y3, power tubes with 6V6's, re-bias your amp to 18 mili-amps and you've got your dream come true. Both the JoMama - Blues Special and the Kelemen - Reverb 45 can be re-tubed and re-biased to produce 15 watts of buttery tone. This tone monster will also accept a plug in solid state rectifier and EL34 power tube! Stand back though, because now these jewels will produce 50 watts, very conservatively.

.....someone who does.
